I have finished three paintings of early Indy 500 cars. I like the nostalgic look of the cars from 1911 racing down the track. With the exception of the #32 car, all of the other cars had a riding mechanic with the driver, so the 32 car had the clear advantage to win (which it did). These cars went an average 75 miles per hour, so it took more than six and half hours to finish the race. View more Indy 500 paintings here.
