Autumn at Butler Canal
There is a special place in my heart for the path along the canal on the outskirts of Butler University. As a student, it was where I could reconnect to nature when the rigors of university life were weighing on me. Revisiting this place 20 years after graduating brings complex feelings—of loss of who I was and of gaining of who I am today. How many times in our early 20s do we wonder where our path will lead? So, it is with this sentiment that it seems appropriate to visit the canal during each season, marking what changes and what stays the same.
